La aviación comercial enfrenta un reto histórico. Una situación sin precedentes para este sector que ya en 2001 luego del 11 de septiembre, necesitó reinventarse para salir a flote. Pero que sin duda con esta crisis requiere un esfuerzo todavía mayor.
La Asociación de Transporte Aéreo Internacional (IATA) informó que durante el primer trimestre del año, el tráfico aéreo mundial se redujo un 52,9%, con respecto al mismo período del año anterior. Representando esta cifra el mayor desplome en la historia reciente del sector.
A nivel mundial, las pérdidas por ingresos en las aerolíneas podrían llegar hasta los 314 mil millones de dólares.
Los cuestionamientos son múltiples, ¿cuántas y qué aerolíneas sobrevivirán?, ¿cuánto tiempo tardará el sector en aumentar su facturación, en volver a los números de ingresos previos a la pandemia?
